Free Community Screening & Discussion of RAM KE NAAM
Join Hindus for Human Rights, the Indian American Muslim Council, and the Alliance of South Asians Taking Action (ASATA) to watch and discuss Anand Patwardhan's award-winning documentary Ram ke Naam (In the Name of God), which documents the 1992 demolition of the Barbri Masjid by a violent mob of Hindu supremacists in Ayodhya. The film will be presented in Hindi, with English subtitles.
In the thirty years since, the Hindutva (Hindu supremacist or Hindu nationalist) movement has only grown in strength, both in India and in the United States. This screening will be an opportunity to learn more about Hindutva and how to join the movement against it. All are welcome to this free community screening!
