Come join the Oakland Symphony for a special FREE film screening of Paul Robeson in “The Emperor Jones.”
“Here I Stand” is Paul Robeson’s autobiographical manifesto on the rights of the free. Inspired by his words, composer Carlos Simon and librettist Dan Harder have created “Here I Stand,” to be performed by the Oakland Symphony and Kedrick Armstrong on May 16. Experience the power of Paul Robeson’s voice and presence in the 1933 film “The Emperor Jones” adapted from Eugene O’Neill’s play.
